A new feature has been rumored for Apple's iOS 8. It appears iPad users may be able to interact with two apps at once with a new split-screen multitasking feature.
9To5Mac reports that the new multitasking feature is being designed with a larger iPad display in mind. Reports also say it is unclear if feature will work with the smaller iPad Mini. furthermore It will only work in landscape mode.
The new feature will currently fix the problem users are having switching between apps. With the split-screen feature users will not only be able to simultaneous use of two apps, but will also facilitate easier interaction between those apps, such as allowing users to drag content such as text or images from one app to another.
While this feature sounds cool, and much needed, this isn't the first time we've seen it on a tablet. Microsoft's Surface tablets already allow users to "snap" multiple applications onto the devices screen for simultaneous use.
Meanwhile Apple's iOS 8 is rumored to contain numerous other changes including a focus on health and fitness. There is said to be a new Healthbook app plus Apple's Map app is also said to be getting a makeover.
iOS 8 is said to be revealed at Apple's annual Worldwide Developer Conference in San Francisco this summer.
It is possible seeing how last years WWDC featured the debut of OS X Mavericks, redesigned iOS 7, iTunes Radio and the new Mac Pro.
