iOS 7 is expected to be announced at Apple's press event being held at their Cupertino, California campus. Apple's latest operating system will create a completely new experience for users of Apple's mobile devices, namely, the iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. iOS 7 will most likely be released on Sept. 18, considering Apple's past release dates. Historically, Apple has released iOS updates in between the iPhone launch date and the iPhone release date, thus the iOS 7 release date will come somewhere between Sept. 10 and the iPhone 5S's Sept. 20 release date. So what should we expect from Apple's new operating system? Apparently a lot!

New Look

iOS 7 will deliver a new look, with more gestures, new icons and much more. Apple has completely revamped the look of iOS 7, the new design is simpler, and Apple achieved this by replacing textures with single colors and buttons with faded borders. Users will often just see text where they need to tap, not an outline of a button. In addition Apple has reportedly upgraded the "Do Not Disturb" setting, altered the "Lock Screen" and "Notification Center" with the addition of a new "Control Center" that allows for fast access to general settings and controls from anywhere on the iPhone or iPad.

New Multitasking Ability

The multitasking ability is a big upgrade. In iOS 7, users will now have better access to apps and an even better visual experience. Instead of app icons at the bottom of the screen like in iOS 6, with the new operating system users can view running applications on cards that are large enough to show what an app is and what the user was last doing in it.

New Control Center

This is probably one of the best upgrades of iOS 7, we caught a glimpse of this new center through the Notification Center from iOS 6. The Control Center is a new pull up menu is accessible through any application or any screen on the iPhone or iPad. The Control Center offers users instant access to commonly used features and settings. GottaBeMobile reports that users will be able to turn on Airplane mode, WiFi, Bluetooth, Do Not Disturb and Orientation lock on and off via the Control Center. User will also be able to control general phone settings through this menu, such as brightness and music, Air Drop and Air Play. The new menu also has a bottom row of icons, where users can launch the flashlight, clock, calculator and camera.

Blocking Calls and Texts

This is a fantastic new upgrade. Users have been waiting a long while to be able to avoid unwanted phone calls and text messages, and now with iOS 7 they can! You now have the ability to block phone calls, text messages, and FaceTime calls directly through your iPhone without the hassle of downloading an application or going through your service provider.
