Some of the big features Apple fans are looking forward to include: the transparent effect in the homescreen also the flat look of all the icons and text, preloaded apps upgraded such as; camera, calendar, mail and messages, iTunes Radio which is like Apple's version of Pandora or Spotify and an improved Siri that now comes in a male or female voice.

Aside from all the features just listed Apple also displayed features for the new iOS 7 off screen and we have a bit of information on those features. The first feature is the Lock screen and home screen updated features.

Lock Screen and Home Screen Features

Apple has made it easier to sort through the list of messages by dimming the rest of the notifications on your lock screen when you select one to view. Also on the lock screen, if you "snooze" an alarm, your lock screen will display a running countdown that lets you know how much time you've got until the alarm goes off again.

On to home screen features. Apple has used a live application icon for the time and the clock changes when the time does, down to the seconds. Spotlight search has also gotten a make-over and instead of swiping across the screen to get access you just pull down the icons on any home screen page.

Apple has also added a really cool parallax effect to the wallpapers that makes them shift and move a bit when you tilt your device.

Improved Notification Sync and natural language

Not only will iOS 7 sport "dismiss once, dismiss everywhere" notification sync between your devices and computers, but Notification Center will also sport a Siri- and Google Now-inspired Today pane that gives you an overview of your day's activities-in natural language, at that.

Activation lock

Another feature that Federighi touched on briefly during the keynote, Activation Lock prevents would-be iPhone thieves from wiping your device clean and selling it to the highest bidder.

Smarter, faster downloads and no more updates tabs

While there is still no full description for faster, smarter download we assume iOS 7 will feature smarter downloads of TV episodes and scan to acquire PassBook passes. As for no more tabs, updates that you may have on your phone will automatically update in the background instead of leaving red update bubbles by your App Store app.

Wi-Fi HotSpot 2.0

One of the more-technical terms on iOS 7's additional features slide, Wi-Fi HotSpot 2.0 automatically seeks out Wi-Fi subscriber services, for instance, AT&T's hotspot network for an AT&T iPhone subscriber, and joins them when you're in the area.

Maps Features

Turn by-turn walking directions for those who like to walk but aren't familiar with the surroundings. Night mode for maps and maps bookmark syncing so if you add your favorite sushi joint's address to your iPhone, rest assured it should show up on your Mac and iPad, too.

Communications upgrades

Smart mailboxes and improved mail search, long MMS support, PDF annotations and chat options which according to Apple's website the Contacts app will display the services you can use to chat with your friends next to their contact cards. You will also get call blocking and do not track which prevents advertisers from tracking you as you browse the web.

Photo and video Improvements

No more faces and places, Apple has gotten rid of these two features and has replaced them with Moments and Collections. True photo sharing with streams you can now be collaborative instead of just read-only, and they can have video, too. Also Apple's new camera app, which purportedly shoots video at 60 frames per second.

Also TechRadar reports that Apple iOS 7 users will finally have the luxury of zooming in on video subjects while recording.

This seems like a lot but know that when it becomes closer to launching Apple will let more features slip of the new iOS 7 but until then watch the videos of the new features below and above.

The beta version of iOS 7 is available for the iPhone now, with an iPad version coming in the next few weeks. The final version will come in Autumn, which is just in time for the iPhone 5S, iPhone 6, iPad 5 or iPad Mini 2. And if Apple follows previous trends we should be seeing a late September early October release for iOS 7.
