Latino rapper Tekashi 6ix9ine has unlocked a new level of drama after the Dominican Republic's Court of Appeals for the Judicial District of La Vega issued an international arrest warrant against the controversial artist.

According to reports from Diario Libre, the court declared Tekashi, whose real name is Daniel Hernández, in "rebellion" after he left the country in June 2024. This decision allows Dominican authorities to pursue his arrest globally, regardless of location. This means Interpol is on alert and could detain him anywhere.

The Rebellion Charge and Background

The international arrest warrant stems from an incident in October 2023, when Tekashi allegedly assaulted several members of a production team and his girlfriend, Yailín La Más Viral. Dominican authorities declared him in rebellion following a request from the attorneys of the assaulted producers, citing the rapper's failure to comply with legal obligations and his subsequent departure from the country.

In addition to the arrest warrant, the court has ordered the execution of a previously imposed financial guarantee of 500,000 Dominican pesos (approximately USD 8,400). This measure aims to ensure Tekashi's capture within the Dominican Republic and grants local police the authority to seek assistance from international bodies like Interpol. The legal saga began on October 12, 2023, when Diamond La Mafia, a fellow musician, accused Tekashi via an Instagram Live session of violently attacking several of his crew members and Yailín la más viral. Diamond alleged that the altercation was fueled by Tekashi's jealousy over his close relationship with Yailín. Days later, on October 15, Tekashi was detained by authorities in connection with the incident.

While in custody, Tekashi reassured his fans through social media, stating: "I am fine, healthy, and safe." He was released on bail the following week after paying $10,000, as revealed by the entertainment show El Gordo y La Flaca. However, Judge Adais Sánchez ruled that Tekashi could not leave the Dominican Republic for six months, a condition that the rapper apparently violated by returning to the United States in June 2024.

On August 29, 2024, Tekashi posted a video to his Instagram stories amidst the escalating legal situation. The video shows him in a vehicle, singing his new song "La Baby," alongside two unidentified individuals. The video's location tag was set to Nitra, Slovakia, signaling that the rapper has been traveling internationally despite the warrant.

Tekashi has remained defiant, posting cryptic messages on social media, suggesting that the news surrounding his legal issues is fabricated. "I stayed quiet, letting them invent all kinds of false news," he said, hinting at a belief that he is being unfairly targeted.
