At 2 p.m. Thursday afternoon a school bus carrying both children and adults was involved in a crash along interstate 65 near Hendricks County Indiana. Only one person was seriously injured and 11 others suffered minor injuries.

According to Fox59.com the school bus rolled over five times injuring five students and seven adults. The students and adults were immediately transported to area hospitals with non-life threatening injuries.

"The superintendent of Lafayette Schools says the bus was routinely transporting students from a program in Indianapolis back to Lafayette, and that the students go to Indianapolis every day for the program." reports Wthr.com, adding that the children were on their way back to school when the accident happened.

Theindychannel.com says the bus was carrying special needs children from the Lafayette School Corp. The same news report says that the accident occurred when a tractor-trailer attempted to change lanes. After the collision, the bus rolled and landed wheels first on the median.

Wthr.com reports the bus crash is being investigated, but the police do not believe that there was any mechanical issue with the school bus. All who were riding on the Indiana school bus when it crashed were taken to hospitals.
