Chase A. Tressler faces up to 21 years in prison for offenses committed while he was high on methamphetamine and Xanax. Randolph County Jail

An inebriated Indiana man accused of leaping from his boss' stolen vehicle into a stranger's, then crashing before fleeing the scene on foot claims he has no recollection of any of it after waking up in a bean field, according to a report.

Chance A. Tressler, 28, was staying with his boss when he allegedly stole his Chevy Malibu on Oct. 9 in Anderson, Indiana. He spent the day smoking meth and taking Xanax before he stopped at a Speedway gas station because he "had cottonmouth," court documents obtained by FOX59 allege.

Tressler then abandoned his boss' vehicle and carjacked a woman's GMC Acadia. The woman told police she grabbed the driver door handle to stop Tressler, but he "punched it in reverse" and backed over her legs before driving forward and running over her ankles, according to court documents.

The woman was transported to a hospital for swelling, bruises, and bleeding while police responded minutes later to an accident involving her vehicle.

Police arrived to find the Acadia had been T-boned and the driver was sent to the hospital with a fractured leg. Meanwhile, Tressler had fled on foot.

Law enforcement located Tressler the next day. According to court documents, he told them he didn't remember most of the previous day. Tressler also admitted he was high on drugs, and revealed he had stopped taking his schizophrenia medication.

Court documents also stated Tressler had a panic attack after the accident because "he knew he was going to be in some trouble." He told police he then "sat down somewhere and then woke up in a bean field."

Tressler was booked in Madison County Jail on a $50,000 bond. He was charged with robbery, battery committed with a deadly weapon, leaving the scene of an injury crash, and auto theft.

If convicted, he faces up to 21 years in prison.
