A TikTok video showing five armed ICE agents seemingly profile a Latina paralegal during a so-called welfare check has sparked outrage online and reignited concerns over racial targeting by immigration officials.

On Monday, attorney James Rivera, who practices in Herndon, Virginia, posted a now-viral TikTok showing a troubling encounter with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents. According to the clip, five agents arrived at his client's home under the pretense of conducting a welfare check on a female awaiting a green card.

In the video, the ICE officers — many of whom were not in clear uniform and had only one visible badge among them — can be seen asking to speak to Rivera's partner, seemingly assuming she was the individual they were looking for.

Many TikTok viewers have suggested that the agents profiled Rivera's partner because she appeared to be a Latina woman who happened to be present at the home.

"So they were just looking for any Hispanic female clearly," TikTok user @alanier205 wrote.

Comments ranged from labeling the event as racial profiling to suggesting the agents' appearance and actions resembled an "attempted kidnapping."

"No uniforms, only one visible fake looking badge, no official vehicles. This was attempted kidnapping," TikTok user @theonlyauntb commented.

Rivera captioned the video by linking the incident to a controversial new policy reportedly pushed by Donald Trump, calling for the arrest of unaccompanied migrant minors. The viral clip has prompted widespread backlash online, with many demanding accountability and transparency from ICE.
