Ibrahim Yucel, Turkish Man, Locks His Head In A Cage To Avoid Smoking Cigarettes [VIDEO]

A Turkish man promised his god, his late father, and his wife to actually quit smoking, therefore he really had to quit! To ensure that he would really keep his promise, Ibrahim Yucel, crafted a torture device-esque cage that encloses his head and ensures he can't smoke. Every morning, Yucel locks his head in the cage and gives the key to his wife so he won't give in to his addiction at work.

Yucel, 42, is from Kutahya, Turkey revealed that he has been attempting to quit smoking cigarettes since his father died of lung cancer. However, despite his father death, Yucel has been smoking two packs a day for more than 20 years.

After failing to quit time and time again, Yucel came up with the idea to cage his head after he saw a motorcycle helmet. He then used more than 130 feet of copper wire to create the head cage, according to International Business Times.

In the video posted to Youtube, Yucel swears an oath to his family, Allah and the Qur'an to quit smoking. His wife admits she was initially embarrassed by the idea, but now supports him because he's serious about the project.

The New York Daily News reports that Yucel can’t smoke throughout the device, but he can see and breathe, while also being able to sip water and eat crackers throughout his work day.
