With Hollywood finally catching up and featuring increasingly diverse casts and story lines on some of their most popular TV shows, Hulu picked some of the best shows to revisit or even discover on their streaming platform. Featuring major Latino actors, characters, and story lines, shows including four seasons of “Ugly Betty,” six episodes of “Jane the Virgin,” one full season of “Cristela” and breakout hit and Emmy-nominated original series “East Los High” which will debut its entire third season exclusively on Hulu.
There are four seasons or 85 episodes of NBC’s “Ugly Betty” available to watch. In the superficial world of high fashion, image is everything. Styles come and go, and the only constants are the super thin beauties who wear them. How can an ordinary girl from Queens possibly fit in? Emmy-winner America Ferrera stars in this cult favorite. Also available is one full season of “Cristela” which is 22 episodes. Breakout comedian Cristela Alonzo stars in this hilarious comedy about laughing your way down the path to the new American dream.
Two seasons including 26 episodes of the thrilling show “The Bridge” are available as well. When the body of a cartel member is found on US soil, Sonya Cross (Diane Kruger) from El Paso PD and her Mexican counterpart, Marco Ruiz (Demian Bichir), must work together to solve the case. The show starring Roselyn Sánchez and Ana Ortiz, “Devious Maids” will have two seasons or 26 episodes available to watch. Murder and mayhem collide in the mansions of Beverly Hills' wealthiest and most powerful families.
Fan favorite “Modern Family” brings no less than six seasons, which means 24 episodes of the hit ABC show. Today's American families come in all shapes and sizes. The cookie cutter mold of man + wife + 2.5 kids is a thing of the past, as it becomes quickly apparent in the bird's eye view of ABC's half-hour comedy, featuring the role that made Sofía Vergara a household name in America. And remember, “East Los High” has two seasons available, while its third season debuts on July 15!
