Remember being a kid and waking up to a Christmas tree devoid of any presents under it? Well, while we got clumsy excuses like “He must have lost his way” or “he is just running late” back then, you can actually track Santa’s progress as he crosses the North Pole to deliver those much-awaited presents under Christmas trees all around the world!
We are living in an era where technological innovations are the future, so the fact that now you can “track” Santa’s whereabouts shouldn’t come as a surprise. Google has launched its Santa tracker for 2019, where you can find out where Santa and his fellow partners, eight trusty reindeers, are. Google has launched the tracker for the 16th year in a row since its first launch in 2005.
Santa and his reindeer will be visiting more than 400 locations. The Santa Tracker will display how far they are from your town and in how much time they will be there.
But tracking Santa is not all the Santa tracker is all about. This year the interface is all updated has a website of its own and is decked with Christmas-themed games and activities like a quirky elf maker in Santa’s Village, getting the chance to take selfies with Santa, and games like the “Gumball Tilt” as well as a new 3D snow box where you can build your own wintery scene.
“Every day over the next three weeks, you can ask your Google Assistant for my reports from the top of the world. Just say, “Hey Google, what’s new at the North Pole?” You’ll also catch my daily North Pole Newscast alongside other minty-fresh NPBC programming like PMZ, the Reindeer Report, and Good Sleigh Today, on Google’s social channels.” the company wrote in a blog post.
On Google Earth, test your knowledge of holiday traditions around the world, or take a tour of the tasty treats people eat in various countries this time of year. Then jingle all the way to Image Search (best on mobile) or Tenor and look for Santa Tracker GIFs to make all your messages merry and bright. And it turns out my reporting isn’t the only sweet treat from the Google Assistant. Just ask, “Hey Google, give me a Santa joke" for some good ol’ ho-ho-ho, or say, “Hey Google, call Santa” to help him solve a wacky problem—coming up with a musical genre for his new band,” the blog post further added.
You can also call up Santa and get to listen to a message from Santa Claus himself. And if one doesn’t work, Santa has many other hotline numbers for you to try! Here you go!
