Years from now, Prince George will be a big boy and will reign over the United Kingdom. As soon as now, his parents are already preparing him for his future role as king.
According to reports, Prince William and Kate Middleton are putting his royal education on the back burner because they want Prince George to be a well-rounded “student of the world” before anything else. In a previous interview, Prince William revealed that he wants Prince George to grow up in a stable home as he prepares him for his future role.
“I want George to grow up in a real, living environment, I don’t want him growing up behind palace walls, he has to be out there,” he said. “The media make it harder but I will fight for them to have a normal life,” he added.
Prince William and Kate made Prince George pursue his education in a regular school when he was only 2 and a half years old. That made the young prince the first male in his branch of the family to go to a coed school, where he gets to mingle with ordinary people his age.
To develop his sense of responsibility, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge also make sure that Prince George and his siblings are always immersed in activities, may it be arts and crafts or baking and gardening. True enough, as Kate prepared for the Chelsea Flower Show this year, she made sure that Prince George would be greatly involved in designing her garden space.
Prince William and Kate also make sure that although George has a nanny, he has his own chores to perform in their household. For instance, he’s responsible for putting away their toys when they’re not in use. He and his siblings also pitch in taking care of Lupo.
Prince William believes that as Prince George grows up, he will look up to Queen Elizabeth as his role model when it comes to ruling England. According to him, his son is lucky to have a supreme role model in his great-grandmother, whom he fondly calls Grannie.
“My grandmother has done a remarkable job leading the country,” he said. “Her vision, her sense of duty, her loyalty, her steadfastness, it has been unwavering,” he added.
As a father, Prince William sees to it that he projects the strength of the United Kingdom wherever he goes so that his son George will be able to emulate him in the future. For now, Prince George has the luxury of enjoying his cake and ice cream, play dates and schoolwork, but his parents make sure that they’re able to equip him with the most important lessons that will make him the greatest king he can ever be.
