Prince Charles and Princess Diana’s marriage was no fairytale. In fact, while royal fans thought that they had the perfect relationship, no one really knew that they had been fighting behind closed doors.
But even if this was the case, the Prince and Princess of Wales continued to perform their royal duties together. They also attended various events as a team. However, there were times when the tension between them became palpable.
In an unearthed video of the royal couple, which was uploaded by a fan on Instagram, Prince Charles and Princess Diana were at a concert in Wembley to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Prince’s Trust. Prince Charles and Princess Diana were smiling in front of the cameras, but it was obvious that they weren’t on good terms.
And in a shocking move, the heir to the throne deliberately nudged the late royal and didn’t apologize to her. But after realizing what he did and the fact that people must have seen him barging his wife, Prince Charles placed his hand behind Princess Diana.
Royal fans who saw the clip on social media couldn’t help but slam the dad of two. One person said that she dislikes the video because of how Prince Charles hurt Princess Diana in public.
“I think he was speaking and did not realize what he was going to do. But a very rude way to treat Diana,” another royal fan said. During a previous interview, Princess Diana expressed her fears over the possibility of her ex-husband physically harming her.
In a letter that she allegedly wrote to her former royal butler, Paul Burrell, the Princess of Wales said that she’s worried that Prince Charles would kill her so that she could remarry. The letter was only released in 2003 as part of Burrell’s book “A Royal Duty.”
“This particular phase in my life is the most dangerous — my husband is planning ‘an accident’ in my car, brake failure, and serious head injury,” Princess Diana reportedly wrote. But one of Princess Diana’s friends, Lucia Flecha de Lima, said that she doesn’t think Princess Diana was ever fearful of Prince Charles.
“I still don’t believe it,” she said. “Paul Burrell was perfectly capable of imitating Princess Diana’s handwriting. I don’t believe she was fearing for her life, especially from Prince Charles, the future king of [the] country,” she added.
