How Kate Middleton, Meghan Markle Differ In Showing Their True Selves To Others

Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle differ in many ways — from their passion and interests to the way they dress and speak their minds, it is clear that the two duchesses are special in their own ways. Their respective biographies also reveal that they differ when it comes to showing their true selves to others.

According to royal expert Andrew Morton, Kate and Meghan joined performances when they were young to show a side to themselves that people had not seen before. Kate, for instance, joined the “Don’t Walk” Fashion Show at St. Andrews University to show her schoolmates that there’s more to her than the demure Kate they knew. During the show, she wore a fabulous see-through dress over a black bikini as she walked on stage, taking everyone by surprise.

Morton said that while Kate had been known as the “Beautiful Kate” of St. Andrew’s since day 1, she joined the fashion show to show everyone the different side of her that they’d never seen before. “It was surprising for Kate’s fellow students to see her on the catwalk because she was usually quite demure,” said Morton.

Katie Nicholl, another royal expert, also claimed that it was after this moment that Prince William realized he had feelings for Kate. “William’s eyes popped out and he turned to his friend and he said ‘Wow, Kate’s hot!’ she said.

Meanwhile, Meghan joined a stage performance to showcase her gift for acting that her classmates and teachers didn’t know exist. When she joined a stage play in high school, Meghan took the opportunity to show her acting skills.

In the 2019 book “Meghan: A Hollywood Princess,” Morton revealed that one audience member told him that Meghan looked extraordinary on stage. “I remember sitting there thinking, ‘Oh my goodness, this is an Immaculate Heart girl,’” the audience member told Morton.

“She was wearing the little spangly number, doing the shimmies, the whole bit. It wasn’t lewd. She was playing a character. It was sweet in a way, but it was also like, ‘Wow, this was a girl with star quality,’” the source added.

According to Morton, Meghan took advantage of her role in the play to show her teachers and classmates that there’s more to her than the fun, thoughtful, mature and controlled Meghan they knew. “Meghan’s amorous song and dance routine was a revelation,” Morton wrote.
