Tonight is the midseason premiere of “How I Met Your Mother” and it’s a slap happy one. The official description for tonight’s all new episode of “How I Met Your Mother,” “Slapsgiving 3: Slappointment In Slapmarra,” reads: "Barney gets unnerved as Marshall prepares to make the next slap from the "slap bet" to be as painful as humanly possible." We may also see more of the mother, Cristin Milloti, as it has been rumored that she will have a more prominent role in the last 11 episodes of the season.
If you are unfamiliar with “Slapsgiving” it all started back in season two’s “Slap Bet” when Marshall and Barney made a bet, and the winner was allowed to hit the loser as hard as possible. Barney unfortunately lost the bet granting Marshall five slaps he could dole out without warning or expiration date. When Barney refused to wear the “ducky tie” Marshall was granted eight slaps. Now in season nine it appears Marshall still has two slaps left and it will be interesting to see how Marshall will deliver these slaps.
