One of the heartwarming movies in the 1990s was “Home Alone” and there has been little update on the cast that took part in that film.
Among them, Devin Ratray who portrayed Buzz McCallister, recently made the news after he allegedly sexually assaulted his friend, Lisa Smith in 2017.
In a report by CNN, the incident took place five years ago at Ratray’s Manhattan apartment. Smith alleged that she was drugged by the 45-year-old actor at that time after which she was sexually assaulted. She added that she immediately filed a police report after that incident.
For his part, Ratray denied the allegations and added that he did not have sex with Smith.
Last year, Ratray was arrested for domestic violence that was unrelated to the one involving Smith. He was accused of strangling her former girlfriend and was released on a $25,000 bond after pleading not guilty.
In December, Smith started wondering why the case was not being investigated. It turns out that the case was shelved because authorities allegedly thought that Smith did not want to press charges.
“The NYPD takes sexual assault and rape cases extremely seriously, and urges anyone who has been a victim to file a police report so we can perform a comprehensive investigation, and offer support and services to survivors,” the New York Police Department said in a statement.
Smith is now collaborating with authorities handling the case. In fact, she claims that a prosecutor probed her phone and text records and contacted potential witnesses.
“I remember waking up and I couldn’t move. I couldn’t really open my eyes, but I could hear what was happening and I could feel what was happening. I knew that the other two people were gone and I was still on the couch,” Smith recalled.
Smith added that the sexual assault carried out by Ratray seemed like “an eternity.”
