Hunter Biden's tax problems were allegedly resolved with a $2 million loan from a Hollywood lawyer who is working on a documentary on the scandal-plagued first son's life since his infamous international business dealings.
In the wake of a federal grand jury investigation into Biden's suspected tax evasion, money laundering, and lobbying law violations, the effort is said to be part of Kevin Morris' legal and public relations strategy.
CBS News said a Democratic Party source in Washington, DC, which first reported on the two men's connections, disclosed the information. Morris' clientele include South Park creators Matt Stone and Trey Parker, and he was a co-producer of their Tony-winning Broadway musical "The Book of Mormon."
Morris is referred to by Biden's pals as the latest sugar brother to President Joe Biden's kid, according to a source familiar with their relationship. According to sources, Morris pays Hunter Biden's $20,000-a-month rent and other living expenses, as well as floating the amount of Hunter Biden's IRS payments, which might make it more difficult for prosecutors to arrest or imprison the first son for tax evasion.
According to the source, he's also been advising the first son on how to market his artwork, which has raised concerns about suspected influence peddling. Morris is a founding member of the Los Angeles law firm Morris Yorn Barnes Levine, which has represented a number of celebrities, including Matthew McConaughey, Ellen DeGeneres, Scarlett Johansson, Liam Hemsworth, and Chris Rock. He is no longer employed by the company.
Morris' wife slammed the door in his face and refused to answer questions when a reporter from The New York Post tried to call him at his Malibu home to enquire about his ties with Hunter Biden.
When Hunter Biden's father was still Vice President of the United States during the Obama administration, his taxes were investigated. In 2018, the investigation was broadened to include potential tax fraud, money laundering, and lobbying legislation violations after it was determined that the 52-year-old may have used political clout to influence commercial agreements.
The New York Post then reported in October 2020 on the existence of the now-famous Hunter Biden laptop, a broken MacBook Pro that the President's son had brought to a Wilmington, Delaware repair shop but never returned.
Since then, over 20,000 emails have been recovered from the laptop's hard drive, which are thought to contain significant evidence of Hunter Biden's illegal business practices. According to the New York Times, prosecutors may have a hard time convicting Hunter Biden of tax fraud, and if convicted, he would likely receive a low sentence because the money was eventually paid, albeit late.
However, the investigation into his business dealings, which is backed up by a slew of confirmed emails on his laptop, suggests that the president's struggling son could face major consequences.
Hunter Biden is one of the main targets for the Kentucky legislator who would lead Republican investigations if the Republicans reclaim the House in 2022. Rep. James Comer, who is poised to take over as chairman of the House Committee on Oversight and Reform, says Hunter Biden and his corporate colleagues have a lot of questions to answer.
According to the Daily Mail, he acknowledged that the White House would be questioned about whether the president was aware of any of the transactions, and he believes that Americans are finally realizing that the Hunter case isn't a hoax and are questioning the administration's ethics and transparency.
