Here's Why Sylvester Stallone Almost Punched Richard Gere Over Princess Diana At A Party

In his upcoming memoir, singer Elton John reveals that Hollywood actors Sylvester Stallone and Richard Gere almost came to blows over Princess Diana. Elton John and his now-husband, David Furnish, were hosting a dinner party for Disney Chief, Jeffrey Katzenberg, who had specifically asked for the princess to be present at the occassion.

According to the singer, Princess Diana had already split from Prince Charles and took a liking to actor Richard Gere who was also newly single after splitting with model, Cindy Crawford. They had already spent quite a lot of time in a deep conversation by the fireplace upon arriving, much to the dismay of Sylvester Stallone.

Once the party was to move to the dinner table, Elton said that Stallone and Gere were nowhere to be found. It was Furnish who found the two in one of the halls “apparently about to settle their differences over Diana by having a fistfight,” Elton shared.

All throughout, Princess Diana seemed unperturbed by what was going on - either because she wasn't aware or because that sort of thing happened all the time.

Furnish managed to settle the two without incident, but once dinner was over and Princess Diana and Gere had resumed flirting - Stallone stormed out. He said that we would have never come if he knew "Prince f- -kin’ Charming was gonna be here,” and that if he wanted the Princess, he could have taken her.

Fastforward to 2019, Sylvester Stallone is happily married to American model and businesswoman, Jennifer Flavin, and is father to three girls: Sistine, Scarlet Rose, and Sophia Rose Stallone. Richard Gere is married to Alejandra Silva who he has a baby with and another child from a previous relationship.
