With royalty comes great responsibility. Prince William is a hands-on father and squeezes in time for Kate Middleton amid royal duties. The 37-year-old Duke of Cambridge’s juggling act has often amassed admiration among fans world over.
From sharing “school run” duties with Kate and reading boxes of handwritten letters from Prince Charles to taking up high-profile mental health campaigns and holding important meetings with the Queen, William often finds his plate full— and gladly so.
Recently, the Duke of Cambridge revealed to the media that these are the volley of activities that tick off his list on a regular basis.
Loads Of Paperwork
William’s day job entails reading and replying to two boxes of paperwork. In a recent report, the Duke of Cambridge revealed receiving handwritten letters from Prince Charles. The subject of the letters predominantly revolves around work.
Constant communication is always on the cards for Prince William. He’s always in touch with Kensington Palace staff via text, email and phone call, aside from setting aside a part of his schedule for meetings with the Queen.
State Dinners
Prince William is often entrusted with the responsibility of hosting and attending state dinners, which are an annual affair among the royals. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge play host to prominent figures, including presidents, royals and diplomats, at Buckingham Palace.
Mental Health And Antibullying Initiatives
The Duke of Cambridge has been a strong advocator of antibullying initiatives. In the past, he has categorically focused on cyberbullying.
He understands how crucial it is to address mental health issues. He also also works closely with a volley of mental health initiatives, which include the family’s mental health campaign, Heads Together.
Parenting Duties
The father of three takes parenting duties very seriously. Going by popular reports, William cherishes the whole process and considers the school run a “sacred” act. The duke shares responsibilities with Kate and earnestly partakes in the picking and dropping of the kids at school.
Farming
This might come off as a surprise, but the Duke has taken after his father and harbors an innate passion for farming. “I know a tiny amount,” Prince William said in a report.
“I’ve got the interest and passion. The countryside is deep in my heart. I want to learn and know more about farming, but the countryside and the way of life and the best people in the countryside are what I grew up with. I’m not a London boy,” he added.
Throwing in a bit of context, Prince Charles ran the rural private Duchy estate for over 50 years. He then he evolved it into a £1bn farming business.
