Despite endless rumors of a bumpy relationship, Miley Cyrus and Cody Simpson continue to prove they’re still going strong. In fact, the couple spent Christmas together as Simpson emerged at the female singer’s Christmas Day bash on Wednesday.
Sharing a series of festive family photos on Instagram, Cyrus revealed to her fans that she totally had a blast last Christmas with her sisters Noah and Brandi, brothers Braison and Trace, parents Tish and Billy Ray, and her boyfriend Simpson. “Happy Holidays from America’s most dysfunctional family,” she wrote in the caption.
While Simpson was absent in the photos uploaded by Miley, the Australian singer appeared in one of the group shots shared by Cyrus on her Instagram story. The black and white photo showed Cyrus and her family smiling around their Christmas tree, marking the couple’s first Christmas together.
Shortly after Cyrus shared the photo, Simpson also shared on his own Instagram Story a close-up photo of his gift to Cyrus, a gold skull necklace. “Museum quality for my queen,” Simpson wrote in the caption.
Before Cyrus and Simpson spent Christmas together this year, they had spent their first Thanksgiving together last month. Back in November, it was revealed that the "Pretty Brown Eyes” was glad to have been able to join the Cyrus family’s holiday festivities for the first time.
Before Christmas, rumors of Cyrus and Simpson’s breakup swirled around but Simpson’s sister Alli denied that they had split. “Yes, they’re still together for sure,” she said when asked if the two singers were still together.
Rumors about their split started after Simpson was allegedly spotted in New York with Playboy’s December 2019 playmate Jordy Murray. Interestingly, it happened around the time Cyrus released her new Christmas single titled “My Sad Christmas Song,” which talks about loneliness during the Christmas season.
Since Cyrus hooked up with Simpson, her love life has continued to attract attention. Both Cyrus and Simpson have been known for their PDA on social media, constantly sharing their lovely selfies with mushy captions. In an interview following their public debut as a couple, Simpson revealed he’s the romantic type. “I’m very, very, very romantic,” he said.
“I don’t think she’d talked about how she hadn’t had that kind of an experience in a relationship before,” he added.
