Although the holidays are among us, there are many people who are not in the holiday spirit. While this time of year can be stressful for people who can't be with their families, such as prisoners, one woman decided to the bridge the gap. Unfortunately, it ended with her being murdered.
According to FOX News Latino, Henry Coronado, a man who was serving time in an Argentinian prison for allegedly murdering his girlfriend, Leydi Meneses, has murdered his estranged wife and committed suicide all behind bars.
The site reports that the unfortunate events went down during his conjugal visit with his wife Leydi Meneses. When the time of the visit was up, the guard found the two bodies in the cell. Meneses showed signs of being beaten and strangled and Coronado had hanged himself with a sheet tied to the window.
Argentinian newspaper La Gaceta de Tucumán reports that Coronado’s estranged wife arranged the visit with their two sons on occasion of the holidays. The boys are 13 and 7 years old.
Claudia Aguirre, the victim's sister told reporters that as the visit was coming to an end and the three were getting ready to leave, Coronado told the boys he needed a few minutes to speak in private with their mother. They left and, after waiting for about 30 minutes, they alerted the guards.
Aguirre shares that although thecouple has been married 17 years, the relationship had ended almost four years ago. "She visited him because the boys asked her and because he wanted to see them too," she said.
The sad truth is that crimes against women are at an all-time high for Argentina. Over the last couple of years, the country has witnessed brutal rapes, assaults and murders against women occur with little or nothing being done to stop it.
