Actress Helen Mirren granted the wish of a dying boy when she dressed up like Britain's Queen Elizabeth II and had tea with the sick child.

ABC News says that 10-year-old Oliver Burton from Leicester, England is facing his third fight with cancer and has only a few weeks to live. Burton was also born with down syndrome and wanted his whole life to meet the Queen.

British actress Helen Mirren has played Queen Elizabeth II on stage and on the big screen. In 2006, Mirren starred as Elizabeth II in "The Queen" a film explaining the monarch's reaction to the death of Princess Diana. Currently, Mirren portrays Elizabeth II in "The Audience" on stage in London's West End.

After Oliver Burton's parents were told that the real Queen Elizabeth II would not be able to meet with the child, a representative from a cancer charity heard about Oliver's wish and approached Mirren asking her to act out the part of the Queen.

The 67-year-old actress was delighted to grant the dying boy's wish. Mirren paid for the Burton family to come and see her play then brought the family backstage for tea.

The entire time Mirren was with Burton she stayed in the character of the Queen and the 10-year-old believed that's who he was having tea with.

Yahoo reports that before the Burtons left, Mirren knighted the dying boy and told everyone they had to call him "Sir Oliver."
