Transfer deals in professional soccer generate constant buzz around the globe. Whether you're a fan of Premier League affiliate Manchester United, Spanish Primera squad Barcelona or Liga MX club Cruz Azul, transfer news certainly has the power to captivate fans of all teams and leagues because the ultimate goal is to improve overall team talent through the signing of available players. The recent transfer window across the globe turned out to be one of the most interesting in recent time since loads of big name talent found new homes while significant chunks of money were exchanged between many squads, leaving many fans excited about the future of their respective clubs.

Former Tottenham standout Gareth Bale signed a record deal to join Cristiano Ronaldo and Real Madrid while former Real Madrid star midfielder Mesut Ozil found a new home with head coach Arsene Wenger and the Arsenal Gunners. While these moves certainly grabbed the bulk of the transfer window headlines, another move that took place in June proved to be a benchmark deal for soccer in Mexico, further solidifying the game of Mexican soccer as one of the most interesting, competitive and satisfying components in the sport.

When Hector Herrera - a 23-year-old native of Tijuana, Mexico - signed with Portuguese Primeira affiliate FC Porto in June for a whopping $10.7 million, the former Pachuca star earned himself the highest fee ever received by a Mexican player. What makes the deal even more of a story is learning about how it was handled and who the driving force behind the player transfer is. According to Daily Mail, 27-year-old Nicky Blair - the son of former British Prime Minister Tony Blair - was instrumental in negotiating the deal that sent Herrera from Pachuca to Porto in June. In addition to making his first significant splash as a football agent, young Nicky Blair also received a solid 10% earnings figure for getting the deal inked between the two sides.

Along with helping Herrera earn the highest transfer fee of any Mexican player, The Australian indicates that the rising agent is not done in Mexico. With the Liga MX Apertura playoffs set to begin on November 23, multiple transfer rumors have started to circulate as well. Looking to make another splash in the market, Blair is believed to be backing the sale of Chivas Guadalajara and El Tri star Marco Fabian. Fabian is said to be gaining strong interest from multiple high-profile clubs in Europe and with the legitimacy Nicky Blair is building, it will certainly come as no surprise if a deal gets done between the agent and 24-year-old midfielder.
