Footage of a Russian passenger airplane erupting into flames after landing at an airport in southern Turkey shows travelers running for their lives in an evacuation.
The Sukhoi Superjet 100, operated by Azimuth Airlines, was arriving at Antalya Airport from Sochi, Russia, when its left engine caught fire shortly after landing, Airport Haber reported.
The airline attributed the Nov. 24 incident to wind shear and a rough landing. Video footage captured passengers and crew members running from the aircraft as emergency teams helped with evacuation.
The flames were extinguished and all 95 individuals, 89 passengers and six crew, on board were safely extracted from the plane without injuries.
Videos of the incident also show firefighters spraying the left engine with foam as smoke and flames billowed from the airplane.
The airport temporarily suspended operations until 3 a.m. local time to allow for the removal of the damaged craft.
Russia's Federal Aviation Authority and local authorities have launched an investigation into the incident.
