Lady Gaga turned 27 on March 28, and her Little Monsters have stormed Twitter with well wishes for her.
As the "Fame Monster" recovers from hip surgery on a golden wheelchair, we remember the singer's most memorable moments as our personal happy birthday song:
1. She can fashion a dress out of anything, even food
Morrissey can say whatever he wants -- at the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards, meat did turn into couture. Lady Gaga showed up on the red carpet wearing an outfit fully modeled of raw meat -- dress, shoes, hat. The dress was a statement about gays in the military.
"It is a devastation to me that I know my fans who are gay, have governmental oppression on them," she said. "That's why I wrote the meat tonight."
PETA did not even know what to say.
2. She met the Queen of England wearing latex
What does one wear when they meet the Queen of England? The most careful of us would turn to Kate Middleton's lookbook, but not Gaga. She wore a full dress made of red latex. To everybody's surprise, the Queen had a big grin all through the meeting.
3. She has a small penis ... or so they say
Just when Gaga was reaching the top of the selling charts, the Internet exploded with rumors of her being not a woman, nor a man, but both. She addressed the controversy saying that she does not have, as stated, a small penis, but that she was "fascinated with the rumor." She came clean on an interview on 20/20 with Barbara Walters, which you can watch here.
4. She had an eating disorder, and does not want you to have it
Late 2012, malicious tongues spread the rumor that Lady Gaga was putting on the pounds, particularly after a concert in Amsterdam in which she appeared a little more voluptuous than usual. To quiet the rumors, she posted a couple of photos of her in her underwear in her website Little Monsters, and opened up about battling anorexia and bulimia since the age of 15.
"All I want is to inspire bravery and breed some motherf***ing compassion," she said. Check out the pictures here.
5. She guest starred in "Gossip Girl"
Blair Waldorf, one of the main characters of the now finished TV show "Gossip Girl," was a huge fan of Lady Gaga -- so much so, that her entertainment lawyer step-father got her to perform at NYU and impress Blair's snotty classmates. Lady Gaga performed "Bad Romance," the classmates could not believe it, and Blair got back her Queen Bee status. Everybody wins.
6. Her cover picture gave Rolling Stone its best-selling issues of the year
Her cover interview, in which she is sporting a gun bra, was the best selling issue for the legendary music magazine in 2010.
7. She has not one, but EIGHT, wax statues at Madame Tussaud's
How do you capture somebody as chameleonic and ever changing as Lady Gaga in a single image? It is simply impossible. That is the conclusion wax museum Madame Tussaud's reached when faced with the challenge. Their solution? Making eight statues, no less. They are in display in New York, L.A. and Las Vegas.
8. She dressed as a beekeeper for her sister's graduation
Payback, she must have thought. Gaga attended her little sister's graduation at her old alma mater, the Convent of the Sacred Heart in the Upper East Side in New York, wearing a lacy ensemble that included a black veil that covered her hair. Her outfit clashed monumentally with the fancy dresses and design bags of the rest of the attendees, and reportedly, was a way to get back at a school that always made her feel as an outcast.
9. Her perfume has a sample of her own blood
What do you think Lady Gaga smells like? Apparently you can actually get it if you want: Her perfume "Fame" reportedly used a sample of her own blood, as well as semen from an unknown donor.
"It's a sense of having me on your skin," she said. "But it doesn't smell like that. Actually, the perfume smells like an expensive hooker."
10. She has no partner ... nor is looking for one
Besides her very suggestive music videos and her numerous claims of being bisexual, Gaga said in 2011 that she was not looking for a partner ... ever. "I just do not have the time to get to know somebody so close," she said.
