Farruko kicked off the month of May with a huge celebration of the singer's 25th birthday. The Puerto Rican artist flaunted his pre-birthday celebration on social media to his more than four million fans. From the looks of the videos he posted on Instagram, Farru celebrated his big day with some of his closest friends and family members, including his son. We assume the fiesta took place in his native country Puerto Rico and judging from the karaoke session that went on, it looked like it was one hell of a party.
"My brother @YoSoyTempo singing karaoke with a Marc Anthony song at my birthday," expressed the artist of his good friend and colleague David Sanchez Badillo. "I didn't know you also sang salsa... thank you for coming and celebrating with me," he added. It seems as if salsa music invaded most of Farru's pachanga as other friends, including music event producer known as El Verdadero Insoportable, also karaoked to the classic salsa tune "El Incomprendido" by Ismael Rivera.
Prior to his pre-birthday festivities, Farruko joined his colleague Arcangel during his sold-out "Arcangel y Los Favoritos" concert at the Coliseo de Puerto Rico José Miguel Agrelot. Other artists who were part of the big concert included De La Ghetto, Wisin and J Alvarez. In honor of Farruko's birthday, here are some reasons the "Hola Beba" singer is simply awesome. Happy birthday, Farru!
1) Born Carlos Efrén Reyes Rosado in Bayamón, Puerto Rico, Farruko began his musical career in 2006 --- and yes, with 10 years in the biz, he is one of the hottest artists in the music industry.
2) In fact, like most artists who began their successful careers on social media, Farruko owes part of his success to Myspace. Thanks to the digital platform, his music became known and he gained a huge following.
3) Farruko is awesome because of his back-to-back hit singles, such as "Sunset," "Passion Whine," "Lejos de Aqui" and "Obsesionado." These songs are all the rage amongst music lovers.
4) He is already a two-time Latin Grammy nominee, nabbing recognition in the Best Urban Song and Best Urban Performance categories for his collaboration in J Balvin's "6 AM."
5) Despite the competitive career, Farruko is not an envious person. In fact, he publicly congratulated all of his colleagues, such as Nicky Jam, Daddy Yankee and Zion & Lennox, for winning big at the 2016 Billboard Latin Music Awards. "Congratulations to my colleagues who won and represented my genre and my country," he said on social media. "I'm proud of them, they are my motivation to continue working hard," he added.
6) He is also a loving and dedicated father to his son ---we know this because most of the times we have interviewed him, he is always with his son by his side.
7) Needless to say, he has a big heart. According to his publicist, the 25-year-old singer is involved with many charities. Most recently he was part of the Teleton in Nicaragua.
