The web series "Halo 4: Forward Unto Dawn" has been nominated for a primetime Emmy. This is not a joke the web series is officially up for the title of Outstanding Main Title Design 2013.

The "Halo 4" series has some stiff competition in this category. The web series is up against FX's "American Horror Story: Asylum," Starz "Da Vinci's Demons," CBS's "Elementary," History Channels "Vikings," and HBO's "The Newsroom." The Main Title Design award goes to the hard work put into captivating title sequences, in this case German 3D animator Polynoid collaborated with "Halo 4" developer 343 Industries on the intros for the five episodes.
Machinima and Microsoft first released the series on YouTube last year, leading into the launch of Halo 4, before bringing it to Blu-ray and Netflix.
The surprisingly well-done and high-budget series follows the Covenant invasion of a marine academy and is well worth the watch - never mind the foam helmets - with elements of "Starship Troopers" and "Terminator" all wrapped into one.

As for the Emmy, the winner will be revealed at this year's ceremony on September 22.
