Michael Campbell, a habitual sex offender and "World’s Scariest Criminal" with face tattoos, is facing charges of attempting to rape a woman while she slept beside her beau.
On Monday, the 46-year-old will appear in court in Missouri, reported The Sun. Campbell has been described as a “persistent sex offender" in documents filed in Greene County, Missouri. A woman was lying next to her boyfriend, who was sleeping, when Campbell is allegedly said to have pulled down her pants and underwear. When the woman's boyfriend got up, he chased the accused out of the property and he escaped on a bike.
Campbell claimed that it was the woman who made “sexual advances towards him” inside a bathroom, and he denied trying to rape her. He told the woman no as he “had a curfew and needed to leave," he told police. After his arrest, he was charged with attempted rape in the first degree, and is being held on a $100,000 bond in a jail in Missouri county. Campbell could face a sentence of life imprisonment if he is convicted of the charge related to rape.
Last year, he was convicted for assault, violating an order of protection and property damage, and served six months in prison for the charges. He was also charged with third-degree assault in 2018 after he repeatedly beat up a person in the face for using the toilet and not flushing. In 1995 when he was 20 years old, he was found guilty of attempted sexual assault in the first degree for an incident that happened in Colorado. He was accused of trying to rape a teen girl.
He needs to stay away from areas where kids might be playing as he is a registered child sex offender. Police also arrested the convicted sex offender for going within 500 feet of a playground or public pool 10 years ago.
In a separate case, earlier this month, face of a "dangerous pedophile" was revealed after the 70-year-old raped two girls between April 2010 and July 2019. One of the victims was just six years old when Lester Bell, formerly of Colliers Way, Reading, UK, started abusing her. His actions included rape and sexual assault, and was sentenced to 25 years imprisonment extended to 30 years on license, reported The Reading Chronicle.
