A 21-year-old gym teacher at Life Wirral, a special needs school in England, was sentenced to three months in prison for putting two students in headlocks, one of whom he pretended to then kick and punch, and for drawing a penis on a third student's face.
Elliott Millar, 21, was sentenced to three months in prison for assaulting three students. His vile behavior was caught on camera during an undercover investigation by a BBC reporter, Sasha Hinde, who spent seven weeks as an employee at the school, according to the BBC.
Millar's lawyer, Anthony Nelson, blamed his client's "utterly inappropriate" behavior on the school.
"He was interviewed by the principal very informally and started work the next day and had no training or guidance," Nelson told the BBC. "It does not excuse his conduct, but perhaps explains it."
He added Millar's abuse was "endemic" and "the norm" at Life Wirral.
Since the BBC documentary aired, the school has been shut down.
