Gustavo Cerati was known for his popularity among the ladies, generally extremely beautiful ones and most of the time, famous too. Even so, Soda Stereo’s frontman had very few serious relationships. One of his most notorious ones, and the only time the singer got married was with former Chilean model, Cecilia Amenábar, whom with he had his two children, Benito and Lisa. The marriage lasted ten years, ending in 2002. One of his most controversial relationships was the one with Deborah de Corral as she had previously dated Cerati’s bandmate and friend, Soda’s drummer Charly Alberti. Next came a brief involvement with Leonora Balcarce who he remained close friends with and lastly, 25 year-old model, Chloe Bello conquered his heart for the last time. She was 22 when they met and Cerati was 50.
Bello earned the fans’ criticism after quickly getting into another romance shortly after Gustavo Cerati went into a comma that would last over four years. Oblivious to the fans’ attacks, the model broke her silence through her social media, calling Cerati “the love of her life.”
“Love of my life… there are no words. I don’t even know what to write through this pain. I only know I loved you since the first time and thank God we were able to experience what true love is so quickly. For that I will be grateful to you for the rest of my life. You will be in my heart until the day I come up there and we can finally be together, because I miss you painfully. Please enjoy everything up there. Fly, float and be your wonderful self. I remember you every instant. You’re beating in my heart and the hearts of so many more who love you. Your light keeps shining very, very bright. This isn’t goodbye; I’ll see you soon. I love you, my chunky clown! Your giraffe, Chloe.
