Gun Store Owner, Competitive Shooter Murders Toddler Children, 13 and 9, Wife Before Committing Suicide

A Colorado family of four was found dead in an apparent murder-suicide when the patriarch of the brood allegedly killed his wife and two of their children on Saturday, Oct. 30, in a shocking and tragic turn of events that police officers are still investigating possible motives on.

Christof M. Kreb, a 55-year-old competitive shooter and gun store owner in Colorado Springs, was found dead by police officers in an apparent murder-suicide. The other three remains retrieved from their residence were his 50-year-old wife Yvette Siegert Kreb, 13-year-old child Felicity Kreb, and 9-year-old Barrett Kreb, according to the Daily Beast.

A 911 call was placed from inside the home by one of the children, who stated that one of their siblings was not moving. Upon finding the bodies, police officers asked nearby residents within a two-mile radius to take shelter as they feared a gunman had escaped, according to an El Paso Sheriff’s Officer report.

Christof Kreb was a gun store owner who previously competed with the U.S. Shooting Team, while his wife Yvette worked as a nurse. She has been donating her time during the pandemic creating and distributing face masks across her community.

Together, the Kreb family has eight kids, with over five of them adopted from China. One of their children, Morgan Kreb, is currently in the U.S. Air Force Academy, winning a bronze medal during last year’s Olympic Air Rifle Trials.

The Colorado Springs community has been left in shock over the tragic deaths of the family. While the other members of the Kreb family have yet to issue a statement over the demise, many of their neighbors grieve over the sudden violent deaths of the Krebs and their children.

“For us, it was shocking because it was our next-door neighbor—we wouldn't have suspected anything like that,” Kevin Hamblin, a neighbor of the Krebs, said. “It’s always a tragedy when young kids are involved.”

The police are still investigating the possible motivations that the elder Kreb may have in killing himself, his wife, and two of his children during the weekend.
