The online multiplayer version of "GTA" launched this morning to a couple of problems. Players who login to "Grand Theft Auto Online" are reporting that they are greeted with a black screen that last for more than 10 minutes and then they are forced to restart the game. Others are reporting a black screen that says, "Alert - The Rockstar cloud servers are unavailable right now. Only disc content will be available and saving will be disabled. Are you sure you would like to proceed?"
The problem is most likely related to the massive amounts of people who are looking to play the new online version of "GTA." Rockstar predicted a buggy launch before the game even launched and it looks like their prediction is correct. Many players are reporting that they can't get pass a black load screen and others are reporting an error message that keeps coming up before the game fully loads. Here is the list of known issues when trying to play "Grand Theft Auto Online:"
- Occasional "Rockstar Cloud Servers Unavailable" error message
- Freezing sometimes while loading into first race in GTAO with "waiting for other players" on the screen
- Intermittent "Failed to Host a GTA Online Session" error messages
- Race Corona (start area, marker) occasionally not showing up for first race
- Errors saying "Timed out when matchmaking for a compatible GTA Online Session to join"
- Occasional "Failed to start job" errors
- General issues with the Social Club site and Social Club features (slow loading, failed logins, emails not arriving, etc). For more information on Social Club status, please see: http://support.rockstargames.com/hc/en-us/articles/200357093
It was reported that even Rockstar's support forum had been knocked offline for a while, although it looks to be back up and running. As of now Rockstar says they are working on resolving the issue and are saying "We apologize for any inconvenience and thank you for your patience while we work to resolve this."
Are you having any difficulty with "GTA Online?"
