It's been a seriously long drought since Rockstar Games last released a title update for "GTA 5." It's hard to believe that the 1.17 update "Last Team Standing" DLC was released back in October. Now, we are finally at the cusp or receiving a major DLC for December. In fact, rumors suggest that Rockstar may even launch two "GTA 5" title updates this month!
Earlier this week, we reported that leaked source codes have revealed that Rockstar Games is preparing some major new updates for "GTA Online." Obviously, the long-awaited "GTA 5" Heists Update takes precedence above all else. Following the release of "GTA 5" for Sony PS4 and Xbox One last month, Rockstar announced that the Heists DLC will become the first title update for the new consoles.
"We know you’re all excited for more Updates to come and we’ve got some really exciting stuff in the works to continue adding to, expanding, and evolving the world of Grand Theft Auto Online – including the highly anticipated launch of Online Heists which will be available for all four consoles as the first GTA Online Update to happen after the game launches on PS4 and Xbox One," announced the Rockstar Newswire. "We’ll have some details on that very soon as well."
According to "GTA 5" tipster and YouTuber DomisLive, a leaked source code from Rockstar Games that confirms the imminent release of a new DLC: "MP_HOLIDAY_CNC_BONUS_DLC_CONTENT_ON_OFF." The CNC abbreviation is believed to stand for "Cops n Crooks," better known as the Heists DLC. What's more, descriptions of two bank heist missions, "Country Bank Heist" and the "Ornate Bank Heist," were revealed as well.
First, the "Country Bank Heist" involves a rural bank job while wearing ballistic armor. The mission will involve holding up a cashier to open the vault, take the money, and sprint for the getaway driver in order to escape to the gang house with the money. A total of 16 cops and 4 criminals can join this mission.
Next, the "Ornate Bank Heist" will involve getting behind the counter of the bank and hacking into the vault. The team must steal the money and transport all the loot to the drop off location. Once again, a total of 16 cops and 4 criminals can join the mission.
The second part of the leaked "GTA 5" source codes are for Christmas holiday themed updates. The leaked source codes are "MP_HOLIDAY_SNOW_DLC_CONTENT_ON_OFF," and "MP_HOLIDAY_CLOTHING_DLC_CONTENT_ON_OFF." Last year, GTA Online players enjoyed seeing snowfall over Los Santos. No doubt, many gamers will be looking forward to seeing the snowfall once again on the latest-gen PS4 and Xbox One consoles.
Finally, let's talk about "GTA 5" title update release date speculations. Past releases suggest that Rockstar will likely choose a Tuesday or a Thursday to release the upcoming DLC. Based on the December calendar, it would make the most sense for Rockstar to release the Christmas DLC on Dec. 23, the Tuesday before Christmas Eve.
As for the highly anticipated "GTA 5" Heists Update, the DLC could release on Dec. 16, the week before Christmas, or on the same day as the Christmas DLC on Dec. 23. Whenever the release date is, we're just excited to finally receive the long-awaited "GTA 5" Heists Update this month. Stay tuned as we learn more in the days ahead!
