On December 3, Sony unveiled a very special limited-edition PS4 to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the original Sony PlayStation. The new Sony PS4 comes in a fantastic "original gray" color and also features a unique finish that features tiny etchings of the iconic PlayStation button symbols. Also, note the "2" before the "O" as a nod to the 20th anniversary. Last but not least, the special console features the classic multi-color PlayStation logo. Leave it to Sony to thank the loyal PlayStation gamers and beautifully remind us how old we've become.
The Sony PS4 20th Anniversary Edition comes in an elegant package complete with a matching gray DualShock 4 controller with a multi-color PlayStation home button. To further differentiate itself from the standard jet black PS4 console, the 20th anniversary edition PS4 will also include a matching gray PlayStation Camera as well as a gray PS4 vertical stand.
Sony will only produce 12,300 PS4 20th Anniversary Edition models. However, despite the exclusivity and the extra hardware including the PlayStation Camera and vertical stand, the Sony PS4 20th Anniversary Edition will only cost $499 in the US.
If you don't already have a PS4, then you definitely want one now. As you probably guessed, the Sony PlayStation 4 20th Anniversary Edition will not be available at your local Walmart, Best Buy, or Game Stop. Be sure to visit Sony.Store.com on Dec. 6 to pre-order the special console.
