A 59-year-old grandmother from Canada dislocated her shoulder, then popped it back in while setting a new world record for the most pushups in one hour.
In March 2023, Donna Jean Wilde, from Alberta, Canada, captured her first Guinness World Record by holding an abdominal plank for an astonishing 4 hours, 30 minutes, and 11 seconds.
Soon after, she began training to set a new pushup record by incorporating 500 daily into her routine, Today reported.
"I've always loved sports and running," she told the outlet. "I love to run and work out ... Fitness and health and nutrition was something that was really important in my family growing up."
On September 28, Wilde broke the previous women's record of 1,207 pushups in one hour by completing 1,575 pushups with 17 minutes to spare.
The record wasn't easy to set as Wilde's shoulder dislocated during the hour, but she proceeded to pop it back into place.
"I had to fight back the happy tears and emotions and keep going," Wilde told record officials.
Eleven of her 12 grandchildren cheered her on during the event, helping to count her sets and celebrate her victory. On November 20, Guinness officially recognized her record.
Looking ahead, Wilde plans to keep pursuing her fitness goals, possibly taking on new world record challenges.
