Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe is rumored to be at the cusp of taking another role in a major franchise: "Grand Theft Auto."

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the BBC is the top choice for the role portraying Rockstar co-founder and president Sam Houser. The full-length TV movie depicting the creation of Grand Theft Auto is set to begin filming in April.

According to Hollywood Reporter, the drama will specifically focus on the saga between Rockstar and lawyer Jack Thompson, who rallied against rap music and video game violence, including Rockstar's "Grand Theft Auto," "Bully," and "Manhunt." The controversial "Mortal Kombat" fighting game was criticized as well.

The "Grand Theft Auto" movie is inspired by the bok "Jacked: The Outlaw Story of Grand Theft Auto," by David Kushner. At this point, the picture does not have a title, but further announcements are expected by the end of the month.

For a little background information regarding the incident the upcoming movie will depict, Jack Thompson was disbarred in 2008 for inappropriate practice. Meanwhile, Rockstar continued its success and most recently released "GTA 5" for PS3 in 2013. Later this month, PC gamers are also anticipating the "GTA 5" PC release date on April 14.
