"Gotham" Season 3 is officially a go at Fox. The network has made an announcement that every superhero series has been renewed for a new season.
"It takes a very special team to tell the tales of Gotham. For the past two seasons, Bruno, Danny and John have masterfully honored the mythology of Gotham and brought it to life with depth, emotion and memorable high drama," said David Madden, president, Entertainment, Fox Broadcasting Company, in a statement. "This incredibly talented cast has redefined these iconic characters for a new generation, and we couldn’t be more proud of this show."
The announcement also revealed "Gotham" will officially premiere Monday, Sept. 19 at 8 p.m. EDT.
Meanwhile, "Gotham" executive producer John Stephens shared to Comic Book Resources which villains will make an appearance in Season 3. He specifically mentions The Mad Hatter, the Tweedle Brothers, Talon and even Solomon Grundy.
TV Line gave more details on the potential villains, including one who is described as capable to "learns people's secrets and manipulates them to do his bidding" and a mysterious lady who "who uses her sexuality to entrap men."
Season 3 will also see the character Poison Ivy make her debut. However, 14-year-old Clare Foley who played young Ivy Pepper will be replaced by an actress in her late teens.
The website also confirmed that "Gotham" is looking for its own version of Vicki Vale. There is a casting call out for a character nicknamed "Valerie" who is "an ambitious young journalist." There will not be a romance with Bruce as he is still a pre-teen and the Vicki character will be in her late 20s.
It will be interesting to see what role Vicki Vale will play in "Gotham" as the young reporter is known for her work with following the Batman and his vigilante work, but the hero has yet to emerge.
