Google's SVP for Android, Chrome and Google Apps Sundar Pichai told the audience at D11 to expect the Spotify competitor on iOS in the coming weeks says reports.
After the big reveal earlier this month at the Google I/O event, Google Play Music: All Access is ready to take on the iPhone.
"A couple of weeks from now, we're going to launch Google All Access Music...the teams are working like crazy to make it available on iOS. In a few weeks, we'll launch Google Play Music All Access for iOS," Pichai said when addressing Google's approach to cross-platform apps.
Google Play Music: All Access was exclusive to Android mobile apps and also had a browser version until now.
The services allows users to get unlimited listening to millions of songs, create custom radio stations and skip as much as you like. The service makes recommendations based on your musical tastes and allows you to store up to 20,000 songs in a cloud.
If you wanted to buy music Google Play Music: All Access Google sells music through Google Play.
With Google's music streaming service entering the ring there are already three contenders, possibly four that Google needs to beat. Twitter recently launched their own music streaming service, there is Pandora and everyone's favorite, Spotify. It is also rumored that Apple will be launching their own music streaming service in the next few months. So it will be interesting to see if Google Play Music: All Access's cross-platform appeal will help its cause and help it survive the streaming music battle royale.
Google Play Music: All Access is already available for download and comes at a discounted rate of $7.99 a month, until the end of June.
The service also comes with a 30-day free trial.
