Google announced a new partnership with Luxottica, which is a group of eyewear retailers in the United States whose portfolio includes names such as Ray-Ban and Oakley. The news came in a Google Plus post from companies official page writing, "Light, simple and modular, Glass introduces new functionality as your glasses get smarter but bringing your own style to Glass is just as important."

The news on the Google Glass device is really ramping up. Earlier this year Google launche its Titanium Collection for Google Glass. The new collection offers over 40 different combinations of frames, shades and colors for users to customize their eyewear the way they want. While that seems like a lot of options Google says that was "not enough."

Google's new partnership with Luxottica offers users a much wider array of styles, and it also elevates Google Glass from its current nerdy and dorky form to a more stylish and hip one. The official release date for Google Glass has yet to be revealed but we know the company wants to release the device to the public sometime before the year is up. And with this new partnership potential customers will have more frame options for every kind of customer.

"Luxottica’s retail and wholesale distribution channels will serve us well when we make Glass available to more people down the road."
