As World Cup qualifying continues and the FIFA Confederations Cup approaches the final match on June 30, many soccer fans are focusing their attention to one of the most entertaining and talented players in the game. Gonzalo Higuaín, a prominent goal scorer who made a name for himself as a member of Real Madrid, is being pursued by multiple clubs across the wide spectrum of professional soccer. According to Bleacher Report, the two most interested teams are Juventus and Arsenal.

A member of Spain's Real Madrid since 2007, the 25-year-old striker has recorded over 100 goals in 187 appearances with the global powerhouse. Finding international success with the Argentine national team, Higuain has been one of the most successful members of Argentina since making his international debut in 2009. Initial inclinations were that the goal-scorer was leaning toward departing Madrid for Arsenal but as the situation continues to develop, Italian club Juventus has come into the picture for the services of the soccer star.
"No deal will be signed until one of the interested clubs reaches an agreement with Real Madrid," Spanish newspaper Marca posted. "I'm sure that both Arsenal and Juventus will table serious bids."

ESPN reports that Higuaín's current club has not received an offer from either club and that no new developments will come until Real Madrid and one of the clubs can come to a transfer agreement. The strikers father -- former Argentine star Jorge Higuaín -- noted that the final decision will be made by Real Madrid and that talks between his son and both clubs are in fact progressing toward the serious side.
"Real Madrid will make the final decision," Jorge Higuaín said to La Gazzetta dello Sport. "Nothing has been signed yet, but I can assure you that an agreement with both Arsenal and Juventus has almost been reached."

It is widely believed that Arsene Wenger -- manager of Arsenal since 1996 -- has visions of pairing Higuain with current Manchester United star Wayne Rooney since the forward may be departing the Premier League squad. If that happens, pairing the offensive duo along the attack line would certainly make Arsenal a serious contender for years to come in the Premier League. The move to acquire Higuaín may be the more likely move since The Guardian indicates that Man U will likely offer Rooney a new deal.
Regardless of the outcome, the future of Gonzalo Higuaín will be a situation to follow since he's one of the best players in the world at his position and because transfer rumors will continue to dominate multiple media outlets until the start of the 2013-2014 season.
