Aerosmith was back in Mexico this weekend with a great surprise: Gloria Trevi joined them on stage to sing along to one of the band's classics, "Walk This Way." The Ciudad de Mexico Arena was the location this time around, where the Bostonian band delighted their Mexican fans one more time, appealing to their culture, and inviting the legendary Trevi. Around 15,000 fans lived and loved the combined performance and couldn't stop cheering as the eccentric Trevi and the outlandish Steven Tyler, the band's front-man, jumped around and exhorted the crowd to sing along. Towards the end of the performance, Tyler gave Gloria a passionate kiss, only to make the crowd go wilder.
At 8:45 p.m on Sunday a video with different images of the band started playing at the arena. It was the beginning of a two-hour show that brought Aerosmith's newest production "Music From Another Dimension" as part of their "The Global Warming World Tour" to Mexico.
Tyler appeared with a feather headdress and performed "Eat the Rich," first song of the night. "Love in an Elevator," "Dude (Looks Like A Lady)," "Rag Doll" and "Cryin'" followed, while Joe Perry, Brad Whitford and Joey Kramer completed the songs with their instruments. Tom Hamilton wasn't present because of a health issue, but David Hull filled in for him.
Towards the end, the audience enjoyed "What it Takes," "I Don't Wanna Miss A Thing," and "Sweet Emotion," to later be surprised with Gloria Trevi's appearance. "Thank you, good night, good night baby!" Tyler said to Trevi after their performance. The Mexican singer took it to Twitter later to express her excitement. "Ja ja súper cooooool," she captioned a picture of her and Steven Tyler when she uploaded it to social media. However, Trevi wasn't the only Mexican performer that had an encounter with Aerosmith. Aleks Syntek also shared a picture of himself and the rock legend after meeting at producer Armando Avila's recording studio. "Gracias a mi compadre @avilaarmando tuve el privilegio de platicar con una gran persona y leyenda @IamStevenT tipazazaso," Syntek wrote, thanking Avila for the encounter and praising Tyler for being a living music legend.
