Bad news, gleeks: The New Directions are going on hiatus until April 11. After the lukewarm aftertaste of last week's "Guilty Pleasures," the show needs a push forward -- and according to the new promo, that is exactly what's in store in the upcoming episodes.
Episode 18, which will be titled "Shooting Star," will be set mainly at McKinley High in Lima, with no New York City scenes. The show will start with Brittany announcing, in her peculiar style, that an asteroid is about to hit the school. The astronomic will not happen, but something more serious will take place. There will be a gunshot overheard in the hallways of McKinley. Reportedly nobody gets hurt, but it will be enough to give the students alarm.
This will not be the only way in which "Glee" will echo recent real life events. A couple of episodes back, we saw Ryder messaging a mysterious girl named Katie, who appeared to be beautiful, smart and understanding of Ryder's struggle with dyslexia. The two chat buddies seem to be hitting it off, but when Ryder asked her to meet in person, she suddenly went offline. Catfish alarm?
While the fact of Katie being real or not has not been disclosed, the storyline will certainly be picked up. Ryder will serenade his new friend in "Shooting Star," performing Elton John's ballad "Your Song."
Another storyline that will be retrieved is Finn and his search for a future. After being scorned by Mr. Schuester for kissing Emma and decided to leave McKinley, it looks like he will take Marley's advice to go become a teacher. The promo for episode 18 shows him in L.A. visiting colleges and even performing at a fraternity house. Will our lost hero finally find his way?
Sit tight, gleeks: There is three weeks to go, but after this hiatus, it is all straight to the finale. With only five episodes left of Season 4, many rumors point that this season will end midway through the school year, meaning that we will not see nationals nor a new graduation. Stay tuned!
"Glee" episode 18 "Shooting Star" will air on April 11 on FOX.
