Giuliana and Bill Rancic are going to give their son Duke a sibling! The couple who notably documented their struggle to conceive on their reality show, "Giuliana & Bill" are ready for baby no. 2! And like their first pregnancy, the couple is asking their surrogate, Delphine, to carry their child for the second time.
The "Fashion Police" star publicly revealed her struggle with fertility, admitting that she and Bill had been attempting to conceive a child since 2009. The couple began in vitro fertilization in March of 2010, which they documented on their popular television series. Rancic got pregnant in the spring of 2010; however, she suffered a miscarriage after nine weeks. Still hopeful, Rancic had an IVF transfer for a second time in November 2010, however, the procedure did not result in a pregnancy.
When the couple decided to try for a third round of IVF, her doctor recommended a mammogram. The results of the normally routine procedure were shocking, Rancic discovered she had early stages of breast cancer. Despite the heartbreaking news, Rancic continued with the egg retrieval and discovered her surrogate, Delphine. Rancic underwent a lumpectomy in mid-October of 2011, and followed up with radiation treatment. On December 5, 2011, Rancic disclosed she had decided to undergo a double mastectomy.
Now, after the birth of their first child, Edward Duke Rancic, on August 29, 2012, it seems the couple is ready for a second child. "We've got everything in place," Bill told Life & Style magazine. "We've got our carrier, who carried Duke -- she's on board. Having a brother or sister in the house is definitely in the future for Duke."
And while Bill and Giuliana are both thankful for Delphine's help, the couple have never abandoned dreams of having a baby on their own. "Of course, we'd try for our own," Bill admitted, "That's something Giuliana would love." But the doting dad confirmed that a baby, no matter how they are welcomed into the world, is a blessing. "It doesn't matter how you get your little baby, when you're holding the baby in your arms and you see their smile, it doesn't matter."
