In very unfortunate news, celebrity chef Gary Rhodes died from a subdural hematoma after he slipped and hit his head, reported DailyMail. The 59-year-old was healthy and fit, which makes it even more heart-breaking.

Rhodes was said to be in a happy mood after filming for his new ITV series and even enjoyed a lovely meal with his wife at their Dubai home. In order to end the speculations surrounding his death, the family issued a statement where it was revealed that he had taken a break from work and was at home while he suddenly slipped and hit his head, causing his untimely death.

The statement read, “In order to end painful speculation surrounding the sudden passing of our beloved Gary Rhodes OBE, the Rhodes family can confirm that after a successful day shooting with Rock Oyster Media for ITV here in Dubai, Gary returned home in a happy mood for a peaceful evening with his wife, Jennie.

After dinner, Gary, unfortunately, collapsed in their residence and was rushed to hospital but sadly passed away due to subdural haematoma. At this time, there are no other details, and the family would again request privacy around this very tragic loss and again, thank friends and family for their ongoing support at this time.”

His friend, Vineet Bhatia, told the publication that the Michelin star chef was in good health, and that his last words were, in fact, "life couldn't be better." In some of the last pictures Rhodes took, the two friends can be seen hugging each other.

Mr. Bhatia said that Rhode had plans for his business. "He was very happy and enjoying the success of his business and was looking forward to expanding. We have lost a great man, a great chef."

He even said, "I wish I could have been there for him. He was such a lovely man. So friendly and enjoying his life."
