In honor of its fifth anniversary, Apple's App Store is giving away some of its most popular games and apps for free.

The App stores official anniversary date is July 10 but In order to coax us all into celebrating the five-year mark, Apple has made some of its most popular apps and games free for us to download. Apple has not yet officially announced the full list, but various apps and games have been spotted by eagle-eyed users.
Some of these popular apps include:
Infinity Blade II
Superbrothers: Sword and Sworcery EP
Where's My Water?
Badland
Tiny Wings
Traktor DJ
Day One
Over
Barefoot World Atlas
Knots 3d
How To Cook Everything
LiquidSketch
MapMyRide+
None of these apps have ever been free on the App Store before, and many have commanded relatively high prices until now.

In addition to offering free games and apps, Apple also posted a timeline image of its progress since it was first launched marking its milestone achievements.

And the list continues to grow. If you don't feel like tracking these apps down we're sure Apple will be giving out a list come this Wednesday on the App store's birthday.
During WWDC Apple announced that the App Store was the home to more than 900,000 apps and that it had paid out $10 billion to developers since the first launch of the App store and Apple's iOS still far exceeds Android when it comes to paid apps.
