France and Switzerland will meet each other for the second game of Group E on June 20th at the Arena Fonte Nova in Salvador, Brazil. It will be the 37th time that the two nations will face each other in international competition. It has always been close when these two countries come face-to-face as France has won fifteen times and Switzerland has won twelve. Both teams will be looking to take control of Group E after they both won their opening games.

France comes into the contest off the heals of a dominant 3-0 win over Honduras and will be looking to grab a stronghold on the group as a win will almost surely guarantee them a spot in the knockout rounds. Karim Benzema took his fine form from the club level with him as he scored two goals in their opening match. Look for him to start out on top once again with the likes of Paul Pogba and Mathieu Valbuena supporting him as they move forward. Despite playing against ten men, the French looked dominant in their opening match and will come into the game against Switzerland as heavy favorites.

Switzerland come into the game off a dramatic 2-1 win over Ecuador. After going down early they rallied back to score two goals, one of those coming from Haris Seferovic with what ended up being the last kick of the game. Despite conceding early, the Swiss relied on young stars Xherdan Shaqiri and Granit Xhaka to provide the spark. Swiss captain Gokhan Inler earlier this week stated, “You win together and you lose together. You can’t win alone. We have many young players that play across Europe and we have good technical players that can make something happen, but the team spirit is key.” The Swiss will need all of that team spirit to find a result against what looks to be a very strong French side.

In what is a very enticing matchup, be sure to check in as the game is set to kick off at 3PM EST and can be seen on ESPN, ESPN Deportes and Univision. If you are not able to catch the game on TV and have to hide from your boss, don’t worry go to WatchESPN here and here for a live stream in Spanish. .
