A Florida woman has been arrested after she allegedly shot and killed a woman during a fight, which was live-streamed on Instagram.
Palm Beach Police have arrested Jasmine Nelson, who allegedly fatally shot her opponent on March 14, during what police are describing as a fistfight turned deadly.
In the live-streamed video, which went viral garnering over a million views, a group of women can be seen assaulting the unidentified victim.
Then, a woman resembling Jasmine is seen rushing towards the victim brandishing a gun.
The woman in the video swings a gun at the victim as if to pistol-whip her. However, the gun accidentally fires, striking the victim.
Responding officers located the victim lying unresponsive on the pavement in the park’s parking lot. She was pronounced dead at the scene. The victim was 26-year-old, her name is yet to be released by the police, Tori.ng reported.
Nelson was arrested and charged with one count of second-degree murder. She remains in custody at the Palm Beach County Jail.
In a similar incident, a Louisiana man was arrested after accidentally shooting and killing a pregnant 17-year-old and her unborn child inside of a moving car.
Karrington Smith was 25 weeks pregnant when she was fatally shot by the 23-year-old suspect, Chad Blackard who was sitting behind her in a moving car on March 12.
According to the East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office, the incident occurred just after 6 p.m. while the suspect and the victim were driving down Siegen Lane.
Blackard was allegedly "playing" with his semi-automatic handgun when he accidentally fired a single round, hitting Smith in the back, authorities said.
An arrest affidavit stated that Blackard was bragging about how his gun "outperforms" a gun owned by another passenger before it was discharged.
Smith was taken to a local hospital where she and her child later died.
Blackard stands accused of negligent homicide, feticide in the third degree, and illegal use of weapons over the fatal shooting in Baton Rouge
