A Miami woman was arrested Tuesday after using a GPS tracking device to stalk the mistress of her friend's husband, according to a report.
Lourdes Garcia Mesquida, 53, found out her friend's husband was cheating and decided to investigate, resulting in unlawful actions. On September 14, Mesquida displayed strange behavior as she loitered near a white Chevrolet owned by the mistress.
The next day, the victim discovered a Spytec GPS tracker underneath her car.
On September 18, Mesquida returned to the scene with a second tracker in hand. While attempting to plant it, a witness confronted Mesquida about the situation.
In response, Mesquida denied wrongdoing and insisted she only tried to locate a vehicle. According to NBC Miami, Mesquida told the witness she was "confused and a friend had sent her to look for a car because she had been cheated on."
Mesquida was recorded in the act on both occasions, allowing investigators to operate using video evidence of the stalking. Videos were shown to her friend's husband, who promptly identified Mesquida in the footage.
Mesquida was arrested Tuesday for aggravated stalking and was held on a $2,500 bond at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center. During Mesquida's court appearance on Wednesday, the judge granted her a pretrial release.
