William Dalton Milam, a widely known Floridian pastor has been put behind bars on the grounds of child pornography.
As per a news release shared by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement; Milam, 62, who’s been a vocal critic of alcohol consumption, was arrested on Monday after he was caught with multiple devices that reportedly contained sexually explicit images of young children engaging in sexual acts.
He works for the city’s Olivet Baptist Church and faces charges pertaining to promoting a sexual performance of a child and 25 counts of possession of child pornography. He was booked into the Santa Rosa County Jail without a chance for a bond.
Milam’s dark side surfaced when a probe was launched by the Milton Police Department and Homeland Security Investigations. Reports suggest that the State authorities alerted the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children in connection to a case that involved an internet user uploading child porn. It soon came to the investigators’ notice that the IP address belonged to the pastor’s home in Milton, near Pensacola, and executed a search warrant soon after.
The accused pastor recently slammed a proposal in Santa Rosa County to allow the sale of liquor on Sundays. “Oh for the old days, the old days when NO restaurant was open on Sundays,” Milam wrote in a 2016 column for the Pensacola News Journal, adding, “Oh for the days when ‘blue laws’ were in effect all over this country,” he said. “But, those days are gone. There are a significant amount of people who appreciate that the streets of our city could be just a little safer with no Sunday sale of liquor.”
