A woman was found shot to death inside a car parked in a parking lot in Florida. A toddler was found unharmed and sleeping inside the car, police said.
According to the Boynton Beach Police, the 32-year-old woman, who has not been identified, was found dead inside a car with a gunshot wound in the parking lot of Hampton Inn, near Boynton Beach on Tuesday, April 20.
A 2-year-old child was found sleeping inside the vehicle. The child was found unharmed, police said in a release.
During a preliminary investigation, witnesses gave a detailed description of the suspect who shot the woman and also of his vehicle. A manhunt was initiated following which investigators located a man who fit the description, driving in the northbound lanes of Interstate 95.
A traffic stop was conducted and the suspect was forced to stop the vehicle near the highway.
As the officers approached the vehicle, they heard gunshots being fired. The suspect, later identified as 39-year-old Narcisse Antoine, was found unresponsive with a single gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The motive behind the murder-suicide is unclear at this time. The police have also not revealed if the victim and the suspect were related.
The child was handed over to the care of their family members.
According to records, Antoine has a prior history with law enforcement. He was charged with murder in 2015, however, he was found not guilty in that case.
Police are urging anyone with additional information about the incident or the suspect to call Detective Gleicher at 561-732-8116 or Crime Stoppers of Palm Beach County at 800-458-TIPS.
This is an ongoing investigation and no further details were available at the time of this writing.
In a similar incident, a 9-year-old girl called 911 after her father allegedly fatally shot her mother and two older step-sisters. The suspect was later found dead on the street with a self-inflicted gunshot wound in what appeared to be a triple murder-suicide.
The incident happened in Brownsville, Texas, during the girl's birthday celebration. The child was later found hiding inside a closet by the police. Although the family had no domestic violence history, police said the child's father, Joseph McCrimon had a violent past.
