A Florida man is facing felony charges for allegedly holding a woman captive for six days, repeatedly raping her and threatening to kill her, authorities said.
Antonio Paez, 38, was arrested in December and charged with false imprisonment, sexual battery of a victim over 12 years old, and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. A judge denied him bond on Wednesday. He remains behind bars.
The nightmare began on Dec. 22, 2024, when Paez allegedly told the victim she "wasn't allowed to leave his house" while holding a gun, according to an arrest report per local news.
The report details that he pointed a gun at the victim and forced her to remove her clothing before assaulting her. He reportedly attacked her five times over six days before the victim managed to escape and contact police.
While speaking with authorities, she received chilling messages from Paez. One threatened to put three bullets in her. Another message included a photo of Paez with three men, captioned with a warning that he was waiting for her return to "send her to heaven," the report said.
The victim was taken to a hospital, where a rape exam was conducted. Paez will remain in jail while the case moves forward.
